Lyrics:

It’s funny how the time slips by
Like the splash of color
Of a rainbow sky

Friends, lovers, family ties
We reach in vain
And are left to cry

Out loud for that special one
The hurt in our hearts
That can be undone

For me it seems I will walk alone
Seeking out those
Who have fallen down

I’ll lift them up by the scruff of the neck
Brush them off
Say “What the heck?”

For a song can reach out across the miles
For many souls
It brings smiles

So once again I proclaim my part
With the air in my lungs
And a song in my heart

For I now know how to fall real far
Super bad
From a speeding car

I’ve dropped through holes of time and space
Down miles and miles
Flat on my face

There was always someone who played the part
Of the Angel sent from heaven
To protect my heart

So now I long to pay them back
In thought and deed
I’m on the track

For now I feel my tattered wings
I’m the fallen angel
Who now just sings

For the song can reach out across the miles
For many souls
It brings smiles

So once again I proclaim my part
With air in my lungs
And a song in my heart

Song Story:

Angels are said to be heavenly beings that assist us in times of need. If one were to imagine this to be so, there would eventually arise a point concerning the notion of the fallen angel. Perhaps the fallen angel is not an angel that has fallen from grace, but simply an angel living a mortal life without knowledge of his identity; though clear in his purpose to help humanity. He believes himself to be an ordinary person and recognizes through many trials and tribulations there was always someone who helped him when he needed it most; as if, in his reckoning, they were angels sent from heaven to protect his heart. And in a desire to return the gifts of love he has received, he is moved to sing songs of hope as they have the potential, in his mind, to help a great many people in need of something uplifting. He believes his only true possessions are the air in his lungs and the song in his heart, and sets about to do the best he can with the only things he really “owns.” Perhaps there are many angels living seen and unseen in the world helping humanity in many different ways. To imagine this story to be true is certainly entertaining if nothing else.
